Yes, it has a heavy influence on their relationships, but even that is a result of politics, in a way. Mind you, I’m the guy who studied “Fictionalised Politics” and used Iron Man in his essay so… bias? No consequence might simply be because of directorial or studio influence, some people prefer stand-alone shows.

OK, I’ll confess, I wouldn’t necessarily want the LibDems to court the BNP for a coalition. I can’t see any common ground – but, to totally cut out half the political spectrum, IS foolish, and divisive, and hypocritical.

I have worried about the Life of Brian parallels within the LibDems at the moment… but I disagree, because SLF definitely aren’t spillters [/irony]. Seriously, I’m not attempting to directly attack them, but I do think their actions are counterproductive, somewhat hypocritical, and will only lead to further divisions. And I’ll still work with their members (in fact, SLF and LL seem to have several co-members at the highest eschelons). In Life of Brian, the People’s Front would never have even spoken to the Popular Front.

Many have wasted opportunities by banging on about how Atlas Shrugged is coming true, and confuse reality with John Galt’s speech.

If you must draw a parallel with fiction, this is a “Peoples Front Of Judea” moment. You’re claiming faction X is a bunch of splitters, whilst defending your own faction that’s similarly defined. Hilarity ensues.

Plus, nyborg was made to look foolish for courting the freedom party. I agree with your analysis about lib left, but not comparisons with borgen :)
